Three tall bamboo canes with numerous vertical slits cut into the tubes to allow the wind to whistle through them.

Unfortunately for a sound installation it is located too close to a busy road, a stream and is sited on what is normally a busy trail, as the sound produced is rather faint. It’s also rather a sheltered spot so the wind isn’t constantly blowing even on a windy day. I visited on an extremely quiet day, no cars, no people on the Ridding Wood, and so was able to hear the flute play it’s notes, though only sporadically when the wind did gust. When working it does produce a lovely noise. I just think it will be lost on a lot of people where it is, being up on the hill eg Breasty Haw would frankly be a better location.
