“A person looking for something in the forest might say “There’s one of ’em.” The title evolved as the work grew, a reflection of the conditions that determined the outcome of my visit; the availability of materials, the amount of help I received, my own physical strength and the weather.” – Quote from the artist
Sited high up above Bogle Crag at Great Intake, on the left of the forest path when heading towards the Tarns. This artwork consists of three large wood stacks, increasing in size. The guide photo above shows the three distinct shapes. The nearest, pointiest one being the smallest of the three.
After the tall pines they were sited in were felled, they have became rather overgrown. The smallest stack started falling over due to the growth of the new pine trees.

The photo below shows all three of ’em for the last time.

In 2019 the stacks were still there, though they can no longer be seen from the main forest trail. Luckily there is a fire break in the trees which leads right to the stacks. To reach them you do need to walk over fairly uneven ground. I knew roughly where they were and found them quite easily, if I hadn’t know I would have struggled. The two largest stacks remain, the smaller one now vanished into the undergrowth.
