One of three stone treefolds, located across Cumbria county. The only one positioned in Grizedale, and the central one of the three. Part of the Long view project by Somewhere Nowhere. It is hard to miss just below Carron Crag Trig point.
In February 2018 an aspen tree was planted in the centre to complete the sculpture. The three treefolds each feature part of a poem, carved into stones build into the fold. The middle part of the poem is on this fold:
‘seed, ideas, earth, light, elements, entwine, a, slow, graft, of, time’
Positioned to face the sun rise on summer solstice. After being clear felled this area of Carron Crag is soon to be replanted, but will leave a gap to maintain the view.
