This page contains photographs I took a few years ago of the ‘complete’ Sculpture Archive which was on display in The Yan which was put together by Edwina Fitzpatrick in 2014. Due to the enormity of the task; compiling a coherent chronological archive of hundreds of sculptures, many with little or no details remaining from nearly 40 years; there are some mistakes. Some sculptures are missing from this list. Some have the incorrect dates or photos etc. This however is an invaluable list which I am very grateful they put together.
It is worth noting this isn’t the first time all the sculptures were documented. Anna Pierce in 1999/2000 “compiled a complete list of every artist and work to that date… it took her the whole summer”. This information was uploaded to the website ‘www.grizedale.org’ which has subsequently been scrubbed of all information about Grizedale sculpture trail.
