Quote from the artist – “the sculptures I have sited at Grizedale are intended to appeal more to the senses that the intellect, & those with little knowledge of modern art will be able to ‘understand’ them if they approach with an open mind… the sculptures are abstract & have no reference to the figurative subjects… The sculptures I was making were not large and had to stand on their own in a very formidable and beautiful environment.”

“(Evison) made four abstract pieces, an amalgamation of sheet steel and heart of oak.” – Bill Grant. All four artworks were sited in different locations in the forest.

Made out of metal and wooden cubes attached together. Positioned at Bogle Crag just up from the car park. “Untitled is underneath a beech tree” – Early 1984 Map. I believe it was where Cloak of Seasons now is sited. Having not seen the sculpture in person it looks to me to be quite small. Only seeing some video footage of people next to it do you realise it was almost as high as an adult (presumably the other 3 untitled were a similar size). It was removed in 1994.
