To continue the tradition of musical instruments on the Ridding Wood Trail, Jony made a selection of artworks to replace some of Will Menter’s sound sculptures that were looking worse for wear. There were several African Drums. These are photos of two of them, quite worn at this point. They originally had wooden sticks attached with string to use to make the sound, these went, but any stick worked just as well. They were removed completely around 2011 when pretty much everything was taken from the trail, due to a grant for the installation of Clockwork Forest.
