Material: Wood

Trail: Ridding Wood Trail

Theme: Bridge

Form: Realism

Maps Featured on: 1989 – 1991

Status: Removed, no remains

This was a walkway created on the Ridding Wood trail beside the stream. Listed on the 1986 map as ‘Footbridge’ (which is very confusing as on the 1988 map this is now named ‘Wooden Walkway’ while ‘Log Pile Bridge’ is listed as ‘Footbridge’). This image shows it when it was just finished. This was the first time Jim Partridge & Liz Walmsley worked together & using curved logs. They say it “set the scene for a large part of our subsequent career”. It was apparently decommissioned 1997.
