Burpg’s House suffering vandalism from coins being hammered into wooden parts.
“When the model houses were finished, the children discussed which features of each house they should incorporate into the two sculptures… Features included tiled floors, a pet dog with his own dog bowl, beef burgers and chips (modelled in clay) and even a couple of gargoyles perched on the roof ends.” – Westmorland Gazette 21st November 2000
Walking past in March 2024 and the two houses have been repaired, Treeleaves’ roof has had new wooden shingles added and Burpgs’ has had a lot of the damaging coins that had been hammered in, removed and re painted.
