This snaking instrument is designed to be played by two people, one standing each end. Due to its length, its too long to be played by one person. Like the Rabbit Hole Marimba when struck with one of the rubber ended beaters provided, it made quite a loud noise that easily carried around the forest over to Carron Crag opposite. One of the beaters can be seen on the floor in the still image below It was removed completely around 1999.
