Quote from the Artist: “I sited the sculpture in the nursery where it was also made; I liked the paradox between the growing plantation of trees having just started life and the constructed tree which was recycled.”

Made up of “one hundred and thirty two constituent pieces, produced out of heart of oak.” – Bill Grant. This carved wooden tree was sited in the Visitor Centre where the Adventure Playground now is. When it was created this area was the nursery, which can be seen in the background of the photograph above. In 1987 the Playground was installed here, so presumably the Tree Sculpture was moved as it is still listed on the 1991 map. It must have gone prior to 1994.
