Photograph taken 1995
Part moose, part gun. One of three artworks by Frost at Bogle Crag along the theme of Cowboys and Indians. This was a large wooden sculpture, which unusual for Grizedale was painted. The handle of the gun doubles as the moose’s face. The barrel uses the nearby dry stone wall for support. The rear view can be seen above with the bullet being fired.
Photograph taken 1994
Photograph taken by Robzet approximately 1996
Last listed on the 1996 map. All three artworks were removed at once. They were still in excellent condition as my photos show, and so have always wondered why they went when they did, maybe they were only on a ten year lease. Who knows.
