John Atkin – Ormandy Intakes – 1988
Material: Metal
Trail: Grizedale Tarn Trail
Theme: Humanity
Form: Abstract
Maps Featured on: 1990
Status: Unknown, presume removed, no remains
John was interested in the fact that the place had previously been a WW2 prison. Sited near Grizedale Tarn on Silurian way, the lakeland fells looking north east are visible in the background. The artwork is made of metal forming abstract tripod shape. It lasted only a couple of years and is only listed on the 1990 map. By 1991 Merry Go Round has been listed in this exact same location, which is surprising as Hunter Killer is a metal sculpture, there is no reason it should not have lasted a long time.
