“This is a splendid seat, a giant, situated in the finest location along the whole trail, commanding broad views across the valley to the forest beyond. Worked from one piece of Dunkeld Larch, sawn along its length, then cut in half and subtly joined again to give movement… it has reference to wings and flight on this wide open site.” Meg Falconer, craftswomen at Grizedale, 1996. Right at the end of the trail this seat had a great view over the whole valley and was an ideal place to sit. At this point there were also blocks of wooden offcuts, presumably left over from making Dunkeld Seat, which children could play with. Seems it was taken down with everything else on the trail in 2012.
